Anne Krueger is Senior Research Professor of International Economics, School of Advanced International Studies, Johns Hopkins University and held that position since 2007. She is also Herald L. Ritch Professor Emeritus at Stanford University and a Senior Research Associate of the National Bureau of Economic Research. She currently writes a monthly column for Project Syndicate and lectures and contributes papers and talks to a range of conferences and seminars on international trade and the international financial architecture, many of them virtual since early 2020.
Anne Krueger was First Deputy Managing Director, International Monetary Fund, 2001-2006; and Vice President, Economics and Research, World Bank, 1982-86. She held Professorial appointments at Stanford (1992-2001), Duke University (1987-1992) and the University of Minnesota (1959-1982). She has been a visiting professor at universities including the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, the Australian National University, Monash University, Aarhus University, the Institute for International Economics (Stockholm) and Northwestern University. She is a member of the National Academy of Sciences and the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, and Past President and Distinguished Fellow, American Economic Association.
She has published extensively on issues of international trade and economic development and the political economy of trade policy. She has published and edited several books on India, including “Reforming India’s External, Financial and Fiscal Policies” (with Sajjid Chenoy) and “Economic Policy Reforms and the Indian Economy”. She has also written and edited series of books including (with Takatoshi Ito) ten volumes published by the University of Chicago Press from the East Asia Seminar on Economic and eleven volumes (with Jagdish Bhagwati) from the Foreign Trade Regimes and Economic Development research project. Her newest book is “International Trade: What Everyone Needs to Know”, Oxford University Press, October 2020.
